Kunozan Toshogu Shrine 
Kunozan Toshogu Shrine is a National Treasure and one of Shizuoka’s most important historical sites.
The shrine is dedicated to Tokugawa Ieyasu, the founder and first shogun of the Tokugawa Shogunate, and his mausoleum is located here.
The beautifully restored shrine buildings feature elaborate decorations dating back more than 400 years. more detail

Nihondaira Plateau 
Nihondaira is one of Shizuoka’s most scenic viewpoints.
From Nihondaira Yume Terrace, you can enjoy panoramic views of Shimizu Port, Miho Pine Tree Grove, Suruga Bay, the Izu Peninsula, and the Southern Alps.
On a clear day, Mt. Fuji provides a magnificent backdrop to the scenery.
You can also visit Nihondaira Ocha Kaikan, where you can enjoy views of the surrounding green tea fields. more detail

Important Notes

Mt. Fuji visibility
Mt. Fuji visibility depends entirely on weather conditions and cannot be guaranteed.
Even when Mt. Fuji is not visible, Miho Pine Tree Grove, Nihondaira, and Kunozan Toshogu Shrine are well worth visiting for their scenery, history, and cultural significance.

Walking at Kunozan Toshogu Shrine
Please note that visiting Kunozan Toshogu Shrine requires climbing approximately 100 stone steps, and there is no wheelchair-accessible ramp.
If you or anyone in your group has difficulty walking, you may stay at Nihondaira and enjoy Nihondaira Yume Terrace while the other members of your group visit the shrine.

Due to the limited availability of our licensed guides, we can accept a maximum of 10 private tour bookings per day. Early booking is highly recommended, especially on days when multiple cruise ships are scheduled to call at Shimizu Port.

Itinerary — If you start at 9:00 a.m. —
– For taxi tours (van & regular taxi)
9:00 a.m. – meet with our guide at Shimizu Port and start your tour
9:20 – 11:00 – Kunozan Toshogu Shrine (by taking Nihondaira Ropeway round-trip), Nihondaira Yume Terrace, Nihondaira Ocha Kaikan
11:30 – 12:30 – Miho Pine Tree Grove, Miho Culture & Creativity Center
1:00 p.m. – arrive at Shimizu Port, the tour ends

9:00 a.m. – meet with our guide at Shimizu Port and start your tour

Starting Time

Please choose a starting time at least 30 minutes after your cruise ship’s scheduled arrival time.
Your guide will meet you at Shimizu Port with a welcome board displaying your name.
